March Skating Magic

March isn’t just for basketball, it’s the perfect time to learn new skating skills! This four week program is designed to teach aspiring figure skaters new things, including synch skating. Each week will focus on a new skating area: edges and skating skills, turns, artistry, and putting it all together. Skaters should have some experience and have passed or be working on USFSA Basic Level 4.

Do you like to figure skate? Come check out synchronized skating, one of the fastest growing forms of skating, with the Mirror Images Teams. Synchronized skating involves 8-20 skaters performing as one in a choreographed routine set to music. It is characterized by teamwork, speed, intricate shapes, and step sequences. Synchronized skating is a great way to stay fit and active while learning new skating skills. Synch is a lifelong sport with levels designed for everybody. The Mirror Images teams are looking for skaters working on US Figure Skating Basic 4 and above to field Beginner through Adult level teams.  At the moment we are looking to field 5-6 competitive teams next season.

The cost to attend all sessions is $100 or $28/session.  All sessions will be held at Rochester Ice Center

Tryouts will be held April 28th, more information coming soon!

A wrap up party to celebrate the successful synch season was held on March 4th and a great time was had by all.  It was very well attended with members from many teams present.  Thank you to all of our skaters for your hard work and dedication over the season, to the operating committee and General Manager who put in hours coordinating our program, to the parent volunteers who make synch successful and fun, the parents who provide love and support, and to the coaches who work closely with out skaters pushing them to be the best they can be!

The Mirror Images Open Juvenile Team finished out their season by winning the Eastern Challenge Series, an event based upon your previous competition placements.  The Synchro Skills team competed in Cicero and finished in 4th in their final event of the season.  Way to go ladies!
