Cape Cod Classic

Three MI teams attended the Cape Cod Classic held 12/7-12/9 - Synchro Skills 2, Pre Juvenile and Intermediate - and all had a fantastic time!

Synchro skills kicked things off with their fun Kung Fu Panda routine, placing third.  Intermediate took the ice next and despite a few mishaps, scored their highest score ever of 54.87, enough to bring home the Pewter Medal.  Pre-Juvenile finished the event and placed third, earning them a spot in the final round on Sunday.  After a tough competition on Sunday the team placed 6th and were proud to have made the finals and are determined to work on things before their next event.

The MI teams perform next at the Thomas Creek FSC Holiday Show open to family, friends and fans.  The show will be December 16th at Rochester Ice Center.

Skaneateles Invitational & Dr. Porter Classic

It was a busy weekend for the MI teams.  The Synchro Skills 1 & 2, in addition to Pre Juvenile competed at the Skaneateles Invitational Friday evening while Intermediate and Open Collegiate headed to Ann Arbor, Michigan for the Dr. Porter Classic.

Skaneateles was the competitive debut for the teams in attendance and all were pleased with their performances.  Synchro Skill 1 finished 2nd in their flight.  Synchro Skills 2 also won the Silver Medal in their flight.  The Pre Juvenile team won the division and brought home the gold and a team trophy after a clean Moana themed skate. Great job skaters!

Michigan was an all new experience for everyone involved in MI as the teams had never attended the event.  Intermediate faced a tough flight of 10 teams and come home with Pewter medals after getting almost every element called as intended.  They had a new high score for the season and were extremely happy with their skate.  Open Collegiate also faced a tough field with 13 teams.  They had a fantastic skate eventually coming in third after splitting the ordinals with Miami University who finished in second place.

All families and skaters were coming home happy after successful weekends in New York and Michigan.
